The annual Oulton Week Regatta, which is hosted by the Waveney & Oulton Broad Yacht Club (W&OBYC), provides the best opportunity for sailors and landlubbers alike to experience the excitement of a major Broadland regatta.
On August 21-26, anyone will be able to witness the breathtaking spectacle of Broads yachts racing at close quarters, fleets of keel boats jockeying for position on crowded start lines and, if the winds are strong enough, high-performance dinghies planing across the broad.
Nicholas Everitt Park provides the perfect vantage point, for those without a boat, to enjoy the action while those who want to take their own craft along should contact the harbour master to book a mooring buoy or a berth in the popular Yacht Station. The latter’s facilities include shore power, water, a launderette, baths and showers.
Visiting keel boats can be launched free of charge using the club’s crane by the public slip, while dinghies can be left in the dinghy park by prior arrangement with W&OBYC.
